Assistant Pastor and Minister of Agape Collective 

Position Description: Agape Collective is an English-speaking ministry of the Arabic Church of Houston (ACH). Since its inception three years ago, this congregation has been increasingly growing and has since developed into a diverse group of members representing various ethnicities and ages. With the potential to grow even more, ACH is looking for a self-motivated and highly engaging individual called into ministry to provide pastoral care for the congregants of Agape Collective.

Working Relationships: This position reports to the Senior Pastor and will serve on the Executive Board made up of church leadership. At ACH, ministers are expected to adhere to Bible teachings in both their personal lives and their professional ministries. Additionally, this role will have a great deal of support by existing Agape Leaders who plan, promote and implement all Agape programming on an ongoing basis.

In order to ensure harmony and focus of all ACH ministries, the Minister of Agape Collective will serve as described below, (Psalm 96:3):

A. Preaching and Teaching:

  • Regularly and actively participate in the preaching and teaching of Agape’s weekly Sunday services and oversee additional bible studies and weekly meetings as needed.
  • Ensure that the Agape programs and goals are developed and conducted in a manner that compliments the overall vision of ACH.

B. Oversight of Evangelism and Outreach Ministries:

  • In coordination with the Senior Pastor and Agape Leaders, plan, promote, and implement specific evangelism and outreach programs for the community. (Romans 10:15)
  • Communicate vision and passion to the Agape congregation in order to instill growth.
  • Conduct visitations as needed.
  • Oversee other ministries as needed by the church and assigned by the Senior Pastor.

C. Requirements:

  • • A Bachelor’s degree in Theology or Biblical Studies is preferred
  • • Years of experience in the ministry, preaching or teaching
