ACH Campus Closed | Worship Services Move Back To Online Only | June 26, 2020

Sunday morning worship services have now moved back to online only 10:30a - English and 12noon - Arabic. The ACH Campus is now closed.

  • Given the rapidly increasing rates of COVID19 in our community and the fact that your safety is our priority, we have decided to move our Sunday services to online only.
  • The next few weeks we will be watching the numbers and rates and would like to ask everyone to be a good example and contribute to the safety of our community, by wearing masks, watching social distancing and washing hands after visiting public places.
  • Let us take a leadership role in combating COVID19 and be diligent in praying for one another as well as praying for this beloved country and our countries of origin.
  • We are all here available to you in case you need anything. In addition, please continue to connect with us online and attend our zoom meetings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays, as well as the children's zoom meetings.

Guidelines for Visiting Church Campus

When we gather, we do have some important information and guidelines that we will follow for the safety of all members and guests.

  • Masks and face coverings are required for all members and guests who enter the sanctuary.
  • We will not have childcare available nor children services on Sundays. Children who can sit with their parents are welcome at this time and will be required to stay with their parents at all times.
  • Please refrain from handshakes, hugs, etc.
  • We encourage all attendees who are deemed vulnerable by the CDC (e.g. those who have compromised immune systems) to worship with us online.
  • If anyone has had the following symptoms during the preceding two weeks, please worship with us online: Fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, contact with anyone confirmed to have COVID-19.

What to Expect Upon Arrival to the Church Sanctuary

  • All guests and members will enter the church through the lobby and meet at the check-in station.
  • The check-in station will scan temperatures of all members and guests who enter and a greeter will guide you through our screening procedures. The check-in station will also have hand sanitizer.
  • Our sanctuary will be open to 40% capacity (up to 50 seats).
  • Seats in the sanctuary will be spaced 6 feet apart. Families will be allowed to sit together.
  • All members and guests will be required to wear face coverings and remain 6 feet away from everyone (social distancing). Some will be available at the check-in station if you do not have one.
  • After the worship service, you will be escorted out to maintain proper social distancing.
  • Because of the reduced capacity of the sanctuary, we will utilize other areas of the church if needed to facilitate worship via livestream (such as the Fellowship Hall).

We will be making worship service seating areas as safe and secure and spacious as possible in accordance with CDC guidelines.

  • We will have hand sanitizer stations available around our campus.
  • Greeters and ushers will give a friendly greeting and smile rather than a handshake to help keep a contact-free experience.
  • We will not offer refreshments in the Fellowship Hall at this time.
  • Restrooms will be open and they will be constantly monitored and sanitized.

COVID-19 Update | March 24, 2020

The new city ordinance has now asked for all citizens to stay home. To that end, we feel the safest course of action is to cancel public attendance to our Sunday services and offer online Sunday services only.

You can join us online on Sundays at the following times: 10:30a CST (Agape English) | 12:00p CST (Arabic)

Retreat Cancelled | COVID-19 Update | March 20, 2020

Major developments occurred that influenced Church leadership to decide to cancel the retreat.

  • As of March 11, 2020, the Mayor of Houston declared a Local State of Disaster Due to a Public Health Emergency to help contain and mitigate COVID-19 from spreading.
  • As a result, the Rodeo and other local larger events have been cancelled including local university in-person classes.
  • Additionally, Health Officials are strongly recommending that social distancing protocols include canceling, rescheduling, or not attending events with prolonged exposures to hundreds of people. Therefore, we are canceling our upcoming annual retreat on March 20-22, 2020.
2020 Retreat Payments *Update 3/20/2020
Camp Allen graciously decided not to hold us accountable for the retreat fees after all.
  • To give your retreat payments as a tax-deductible donation, there is nothing you have to do. We thank you greatly for your generosity during this difficult time.
  • To receive your retreat payment as reimbursement, please email us with the correct spelling of your name and your address and we will be glad to send you a check.

Actions You Can Take

Guidelines Based on the CDC

Below are some best practices given by the CDC for not spreading germs and guidelines to keep in mind: ⠀

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.⠀
  • Put distance between yourself and other people. This is especially important for people who are at higher risk of getting very sick.
  • Stay home if you or your child are not feeling well and call your healthcare provider covered by your insurance plan.⠀
  • Cover your mouth and nose with your forearm when coughing and sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds at a time. Use soap and water when possible or alcohol-based hand sanitizer with 60%-95% alcohol. ⠀
  • For more detailed guidelines and resources, please visit the CDC website on COVID-19 which is being updated almost daily.

Pray

And most importantly, please pray. As people of God, we exercise Godly wisdom in all things, but we are not a people who fear. As the news may seem grim and dire, we focus our eyes on Jesus "the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrew 12:2)." As the world goes up and down with each shifting shadow, may we continuously be a people shining His brilliant Light of Peace and pass on the Holy Spirit's comforting message of hope to a people gripped by fear. We love you, and we are praying with you.

"I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33

"Peace is what I [Jesus] leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset and do not be afraid." John 14:27
